Ruairí (called after his maternal grandfather) is out of Cadhla’s second litter to Elliot, Billy Elliot De Ria Vela JW. He was one of five puppies and one of 4 boys. Ruairi and his only sister Caragh stayed with us. There is so much to love about this boy… Ruairi is a very happy, very sweet & very cuddly boy, always by your side (or on you!!). He reminds us of his mother Cadhla a lot! He is a pleasure to show and live with, and although sometimes a bit too excited, ckeeping us on our toes, he is just the best boy. Ruaíri is very helpful too, he takes off your socks and gives them to you when you’re relaxing on the sofa. A perfect companion, friendly and confident.
Ruairi gained his KC Good Citizen Bronze Award in May 2018 and his Junior Warrant in September 2018.

United Retriever Club Championshop Show, August 2019, 1st in Graduate Dog, by Mrs Melissa Loverock (Lovissa) : Now this young man is determined to give his handler a hard time but when he does behave it all falls into place, such a quality boy he stands out for his overall balance. Well made throughout with super front and rear angles, deep through the chest with good spring of rib, short coupled and strong backend. Neat short hocks which enabled him to move with strength and power, easily covering the ground. Shown in lovely mid gold coat and in top condition. One to watch for sure.
Leeds Championship Show, 28th July, 2nd in Junior Dog – by Ms Carol Benson: Mid gold, in good condition throughout. Broad masculine head with lovely dark pigment. Excellent front assembly, well sprung ribs, level topline. Rear quarters in balance with front making an attractive outline. Moved well. A lot to like about him.
Eastern Countie Golden Retriever Club Open Show, 27th May 2018, 1st in PD, BPD & BPIS – by Mrs Caron French (Caffimbra): Loved everything about this 11 month old, mid gold, well balanced, typical youngster. Oozing breed type, he has a great outline, gorgeous chiselled head with broad skull and good muzzle depth enhanced by dark pigment. Good bone, straight forelegs with elbows well in and good depth of body already for a puppy. Excellent forehand and rear construction, with nothing overdone, giving a great stride as he moved round the ring holding his firm, level topline. Head and tail carriage were in harmony and he was a joy to watch on the move. BPD and BP.
WELKS, 29th April 2018, 2nd PD – by Mrs E Anne Orzel: Another exciting youngster, very balanced and close up to first with super head and expression, dark pigment, straight bone with tight feet, excellent shoulder assembly, short coupled, level topline, good quarters, moved true front and rear with animation.
South West Essex Canine Association, 22nd April 2018, 2nd in PD – by Mr Marc Wheeldon (Catnells): Another quality well constructed puppy that was totally different in type to 1 but for me just lacked in a little coat on the day but certainly didn’t detract too much from his qualities. His soft expression drew me in to his dark eyes and masculine head, strong neck in to well laid back shoulders, excellent top line with good tail set, front and rear construction was excellent and he moved with positivity and drive around the ring.
Eastern Counties Golden Retriever Club Open Show, 4th March 2018, 1st in MPD – by Mr Garry Golder (Summeramba): 8 month golden boy, good pigment, dark eye giving a soft expression. Good neck leading sweeping into a good level topline & tailset. Correct front angulation, good bone, neat catlike feet. Short coupled, nice bend of stifle Move out so well.
Southern Golden Retriever Club Ch Sh, 25th February 2018, 2nd in MPD – by Mrs Catherine Zingg (Rayleas): Absolutely “my cup of tea” and hope he goes on to fulfil the promise now shown, lovely head and expression, well made throughout, presented and handled to perfection, scored in rear quarters, moved with drive, just lacking the maturity of first, which allowed me to separate these two quality youngsters.
Golden Retriever Club Of Wales Ch Sh, 11th February 2018, 2nd in MPD – by Mrs Wendy Andrews (Catcombe): Similar in type to winner and little separated. Another free standing, happy youngster, with a most appealing head and expression. Well constructed and balanced with excellent shoulder and stifle angulation. Moved at one with his handler. A lovely puppy.
Dukeries Gundog Club, 7th January 2018 , Best Puppy – by Mr Ian Jones (Ladrow): This puppy was showing excellent ring presence for one so young, nicely balanced head with shoulder and upper arm, equal length and symmetrical throughout, well off for bone, good top line with tail straight of the back. BP
Wealdstone & Northolt Canine Club, 27th December 2017 , Best Puppy – by Mr Nigel Small (Primarius) – breed judge: An eye catching young puppy; an appealing clean outline standing four square, excellent in profile with good angles front and rear. A kindly expressive face with balanced and well chiselled broad skull and correct scissor bite, good for pigment with pleasing dark eyes. Well laid back shoulders. Good breadth and depth of chest with good turn of stifle, moved well and was attentive to the handler although a little excited, exhibited in excellent condition and I feel will go far in the future BPIB
