We are Paulina and Simon and we live in Cambridgeshire.

We got our first pet golden retriever in February 2013 when we moved to Ireland. Lucy joined us and our cat Felek in our Irish adventure which was initially planned to last for up to a year. We both always loved the breed but unfortunately we were not able to have a golden due to our living situation. A month later after we got our Lucy while watching Crufts we said we would like to start showing and so we did! In May 2013 we attended our first ever show with Lucy who was never meant to be a show dog and without the showing skills and we were not placed high. We did however meet many lovely show people including Orlagh Murray and her sister Aoife who were extremely helpful and gave us a lot of great tips. They also encouraged us to keep trying and soon after we joined the Golden Retriever Society Of Ireland and then the All Ireland Golden Retriever Club. It was obvious that we were bitten by the dog showing bug and we needed a show quality puppy to start with. We were very lucky as in August 2013 we collected from Orlagh Murray our wonderful Cadhla – Rathcloon Hunter In Pink, a daughter of Orlagh’s beautiful Tori – Ir Sh Ch Rathcloon Peaches N Cream Jun Ch JD and a granddaughter of the wonderful Murphy – Int Ir Sh Ch Rathcloon The Spice Is Nice An Ch 08. Cadhla was just the most beautiful puppy of a loving, typical for a golden retriever character. We fell in love with her the day we saw her for the first time.

Cadhla’s first show was the Gundog & Field Society Ch Show in Dublin where she was placed 2nd giving the first to her sister Tess. Her second show was 2 days later and she amazed us all by coming 1st in her class and winning Best Baby Puppy in Breed against her brother Bailey.

Since then Cadhla has not stopped amazing us by winning her puppy classes, then gaining her Junior Diploma title, winning the AIGRC Top Winning Junior then gaining her first Res Green Stars in the ring with big girls and finally getting her first CACIB and BOB in Poland, a month before her 2nd birthday.

Thanks to our lovely girl as well as our wonderful friends who we met along our short showing journey we got totally involed in the show scene and breeding, we had our first litter of puppies in October 2014 from Lucy who happened to be a fantastic mother to her 11 chunky puppies.

In early May 2015 we left Ireland as it was time to go back to England and even though we knew from the beginning that living in Ireland was only temporary, we were truly sad and promised ourselves and our friend to visit often.

We currently live on the border of Cambridgeshire/Suffolk due to Simon’s work commitments and we couldn’t be happier here, what a wonderful and dog friendly place it is. The dogs just love it! We are planning on keep going with the shows and hopefully breeding another litter of puppies. We are both excited about learning more about the beautiful breed we have and training our dogs to be gundogs as this is what they were designed for.
